The gwel to Treth House is a project by Laurence Associates and located in Sennen Cove, Cornwall, England. It is located on a steep slope overlooking the picturesque village below and Cape Cornwall. The customer wanted to completely redesign the old cottage and modernize. The new House makes optimum use of the site and the beautiful prospects by the abundant use of glass such as glass railings, skylight, and floor to ceiling glazing.
Glass can also light flow freely in the House and creates a pleasant contrast with the solid stone walls.The House is situated in an area which characterized with outstanding natural beauty, therefore combining contemporary design with classic architectural elements. The customer wanted to explore an alternative approach to the design process and make a few changes in close coordination with the structural engineer. According to the revised architecture plan, the building should be further positioned on steep slopes so that the bedrooms on a different level than the input range.
The sea can be seen from the light-flooded foyer. There are two balconies and two sun terraces below. There are the wooden sun loungers on the lawn.A large glass window in the open plan living area complements the full glass wall to the balcony and let flow into the light of day. The interiors there are in warm colors like cream and orange, while the classic color duo dominated black and white in the dining room.Take a tour through the House and enjoy the beautiful views of the sea!
