At the beginning may seem like good idea to have an open environment when it comes to a small space. But it is not nice to open the door of your House and immediately see the dirty dishes or pulled clothes, so that sometimes it is better to separate private spaces, to not leave all exposed at a glance.
Every centimeter counts, there for it is worth investing in furniture that meet more than one function, such as a bed nest becoming sofa, a pouf (Ottoman) having storage inside, or a table of expandable dining room that will allow you to accommodate more people.
The key is beyond of many furniture multi purpose they have, the important thing is that they are suitable to the scale of your space.
After living through the same place for a long time we become accustomed to using the space in a certain way, and perhaps us is comfortable to keep the pans in the oven and the towels on the vanity, but have ever considered the possibility that you’re not using your space in the most efficient way?
A good exercise is to look at your House and identify “dead spaces”, those corners that could be used better including some extra furniture or giving a different use.
The best thing in these cases is to test for low-cost, before you commit with one major investment (as it appears in the picture above), to see if the change worth it.
When the floor space is scarce, it is convenient to use the walls as storage space, as for example these shelves around Central magnificent of the door.
Allow space for storage is key in a small space. However, if you have space to store but you do not have a clear organizational system probably you won’t find the things that you have saved.
So there are several options, such as hangers of shoes behind the doors of the cabinet which will allow you to keep even very small objects and keep them organized. Or baskets with labels, such as that which appears in the photo above, which is an easy-to-implement option.
We have enough already spoken about colors, which is a very common issue, especially when it comes to small spaces. Regarding this, there is a psychological effect of the well-known color and light colors make the spaces seem larger, and conversely strong and dark colors make the space feel smaller.
But should not be confused: a space is small doesn’t mean that everything should be white. It is simply recommended to choose the lighter shades from the palette. If you want to use several colors, it is best to choose similar shades, rather than those with high contrast.
